Praying the Wrong Way for Obama
The shirt says Pray for Obama, the verse says “Let his days be few; and let another take his office.” It started out as a joke, but people are taking it seriously and now you can buy the actual shirt online.
Our politicization of Christianity is getting a little overwhelming - as a practice we ignore those verses that say God allows each ruler to rule and that we should obey the authorities that God has put into place. Rather, we vehemently and viciously promote whatever agendas are “Biblical” in this day and age - usually the opposite of whatever Democrats are proposing.
There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with the leaders of our country or even of wishing someone else was in power - but it should be done in a way that respects all people as God created and having innate value (thus their life being valuable) and also exhibits love and peace to those whom we disagree with.
Any thing that steps over those lines, whether it be done in “jest” or in seriousness, is wrong. A joke about wanting the President to die has no defense from a Christian perspective.
